Florida SSYRA Jr.04/26/2025, 02:24 PM2025-2026 FL Sunshine State Young Readers Junior Award (SSYRA Jr.) – Reading List
The mission of the Florida SSYRA Jr. program is to develop student interest in reading for pleasure by exposing them to a wide range of appropriate literature. Florida students in grades K-2 are encouraged to listen to read-alouds of these books, read them in a small group setting, or read independently to develop skills in fluency and comprehension. Students who have read/listened to at least three nominee books are eligible to vote for their favorite, and the author and illustrator of the winning book receive their SSYRA awards at the FAME (Florida Association for Media in Education) annual conference.
